Hey y'all! Coming atcha with a makeup post. I posted a 5 Minute Makeup Tutorial reel over on Instagram, go watch it HERE. I also linked up all the different products I used over on Liketoknow.it, but I thought I would put it all in a permanent blog post so it is super easy to refer back to. Click on any of the items in the collages below to be redirected to the product for shopping. That's all from me for now, happy shopping & thanks for all the support love y'all!
The Step by Step:
Step 1: Clip hair back to ensure even application.
Step 2: Apply 1-1.5 pumps of Tula Face Filter Primer all over, I just rub it in with my hands.
Step 3: Swipe Shape Tape Concealer 22N under eyes, chin, nose, and blemishes. (Shades are very forgiving, lighter is always better for brightening!) I always blend it over my eyelids as well to cover any veins.
Step 4: (Not necessary) Apply Tarte Hydrocealer 20N to blemishes and dry spots. This concealer is more hydrating than Shape Tape so perfect for blemishes. (Shades here are also very forgiving.) If you have dry skin, I would recommend this concealer over the Shape Tape Concealer.
Step 5: Blend, blend, blend!! With a DAMP!! beauty blender, pounce products into skin. NEVER drag or pull always bounce, you don't want to stretch your skin. Before using a beauty blender, run it under water and squeeze it under the water. Then, take a tissue and squeeze out the remaining water, the blender should be damp, not soaking wet.
Step 6: Apply Shape Tape Glow Wand in the shade "Dream" in the areas you would want highlight/shine. These are the areas that the sun would naturally hit your face (down the nose, temples of cheeks, cupid's bow, above eyebrows, etc).
Step 7: Now onto coverage, I take a tiny pump of the Drunk Elephant De-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops onto my hand and combine it with the Tarte Maracuja Tinted Hydrator. I usually just take my finger and swipe product onto my face.
Step 8: Then, blend, blend, blend!! Take the time to blend everything out and together. Be sure to take it to your hairline, along with your neck.
Step 9: After blending all the products, I take my Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder shade 2 Medium, and swipe it under my eyes most importantly, but also over my entire face, using this brush.
Step 10: This step is one of my faves, bronzer! Using the Physician's Formula Bronzer 6675, I apply it with an Amazon Brush in the shape of a 3 down the sides of my face. I always bring it down to my neck and under my chin as well.
Step 11: Onto blush! I loveeee a good blush. I apply it with a fan brush to the apples of my cheek along with the sides of my face, and most importantly my nose! By applying the blush to your nose, you are creating a sun kissed look. I mix the Milani Blush in shade 05 Luminoso with the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hr Blush in the shade "Quirky".
Step 12: Next, highlighter! I don't currently have a highlighter, so I have been using my Tartelette in Bloom Palette and taking the shimmer shade "Funny Girl" and applying to the inner corner of my eyes, cheek bones, cupid's bow, nose, and above/below eyebrows. Highlighter is an important step if you are taking pictures! Makes a huge difference in defining your face structure.
Step 13: Now's the time for eyeshadow. I use the Tartelette in Bloom Palette. I don't typically do a whole eyeshadow look (mainly because I don''t know how, lol), but I will take the shade "Charmer" and apply all over the lid to brighten. I will then mix the shade "Funny Girl" and "Charmer" for a little shimmer, but nothing too special or dramatic. I did add "Jetsetter" in the crease of my lid for more dimension, but leaving it in the outer corners. Always keep the inner corners of your eyes light and bright! I use brushes from the Real Techniques Essential Brush Set along with this Amazon Makeup Brush Set.
Step 14: Next, I took the shade "Smoke show" with a fine tip brush and applied it to my bottom lash line from the outside to the middle of my waterline. This also just adds some dimension to your eyes without being "in your face".
Step 15: Lash time! I have always and will always use the Lancome Vitamin-Infused Mascara Primer to coat my upper lashes. Let it dry till it's tacky, then apply mascara.
Step 16: On top of the lash primer, I applied my Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. This mascara has the perfect brush for long, voluminous, defined lashes without any clumping. This has quickly become one of my favorite mascaras.
Step 17: Last, eyebrows. I use an eyebrow soap, simply wet the brush and rub it on top of the product, then apply it to your eyebrows. This stuff is perfect for a brushed brow look, and there is no coloring to it. I use it on the daily for bushy, fuller looking brows. I also use this brow brush to luff 'em up.
Step 18: Lips! I am OBSESSED with the Dior Lip products. I start with the Dior Lip Glow Oil, I have a bunch of colors, but I usually grab 001 Pink. Next, I use the Dior Lip Maximizer also in the shade 001 Pink. This is a plumping gloss, but it does not tingle or burn at all. Lastly, I always end with the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Gloss always in the shade "Clear". Beware this stuff does tingle, definitely takes some getting used to.
Step 19: I finish with a setting spray. I use the Tula Refreshing and Brightening Face Mist, make sure to shake it thoroughly. I love this one, because it gives you a glow.
Believe it or not, this one hundred step routine seriously takes 5 minutes. It is so easy to play around with different steps to change up the look, especially eyeshadow. I am definitely not a makeup expert, honestly I didn't even own makeup until this summer, but I have gotten the hang of it and found the best products for my skin! Xoxo.
